Mayhem in Surrey.
Sissy bar destroys local garage.
It was a night of mayhem in Surrey last night;
Chopper Ron, behind schedule for a relaxing night at Rick's house, decided that he would take a short cut.
Not realizing the full height of his sissy bar he ended up demolishing a carport in the process.
Neither Ron nor the sissy bar were injured in the incident.

Four days of riding.
Managed to get four days of riding in....must be spring.
With the weather being what it was last weekend I found myself riding all four days. It started with the Thursday ride in Surrey; short and sweet...out to the lake and back. On Friday, even though I wasn't originally going to go on the Friday night ride, the weather just kept on getting better. After talking to Ron and realizing he was going I couldn't say no. And then of course Saturday was Chuck's birthday and though I wasn't sure about this ride I ended up going as well. Sure am glad that I did; very good ride and couldn't ask for better weather. The ride started early and was on a Saturday so there were a lot of people everywhere. Took a few clips;
Sunday rolled around and there I was driving into Langley to go on another birthday ride - this one belonging to Ryan. Took a few clips of this as well....

CHOPPERS AND SNOW
This week Thursday somehow crept up on me and the thought of riding had somehow slipped my mind. This is rare but the weather had been lousy all day and I was sure there wouldn't be a ride. I was wrong.
By the time I made it over to hook up with the usual suspects there was already six of us and we were to meet up with Pascal later on for a total of seven....not bad for a night that was calling for more cold with the possibility of rain. We headed over to the beer and wine store for refreshments and then off to the Timbers for a round at the lake.
As we approached the entrance to the park we were all aware that there would be some snow...just as it had been the last few times we rode into the park. What none of us expected, however, was not so much the snow but the long sections of thick slush and wet snow covering up solid patches of ice. It was no country for the choppers; all of us, at some point in time, had to get off our bikes and walk our trusty steeds.
We stayed for a quick round at the dock of the bay, made some offerings to the gods and then headed back to the local pub for refreshments. Food, drinks and the good company of friends made for a great time and before we knew it it was time to head for home. For an unexpected night of riding it turned out to be a pretty good ride on a pretty good night.

The Latest
Haven't written anything for a while....mostly because there hasn't been a whole heck of a lot of riding going on.
Went last week Thursday
with the Surrey gang....there was only three of us...Chopper Ron, Darcy
and myself...but it was still a great ride. This week, instead of
waiting for even colder weather or even snow, we decided to head out
today, Wednesday, and cancel the usual Thursday night ride. There was
six of us and it made for a good night. No-one went down on any black
ice which was pretty amazing because there was lots of it around...lots
of crusty snow as well which wasn't actually that bad to ride on. Went
out to the lake and then out to get some chilli at the latest local
hangout. Back out and around to Guildford Lake and then back home.
Short and sweet.
Included in this blog are some pictures that i have finally gotten around to uploading onto the site....all from the Vancouver rides. They include pics from the Halloween ride, the Winter Nationals Ride and the Nov. 16th ride (the day of the seawall opening). Apologies to all for not gettings these up and running sooner but hope they bring back some good memories nonetheless. George

but the brochure said "no hills"
Being that this is my first weblog, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bryn for all the time, money and effort that he has put into this site. I realize that several people have already mentioned this but I don't think that it can be overstated. I would also like to thank everyone that comes out on these rides......it is always a great time and a great ride. It is unfortunate that not everyone can get along with everyone else (would be a pretty boring world if they did), that there are hills and that the ride doesn't always go where you want it to. But it is about the ride above all and foremost....and then of course the people that you are riding with. Have hopefully included a few pics of some of my rides and some of the people that I have had the good forturne to ride with in the last week. Take care and ride safe. GBH.
