For the Love of Warm!!
Ok... I know it's been said many a time lately... but it's FREAKING cold out there! I usually try to be tough and take one for the team as it were... I just like riding my bike that much... but lately I've been finding it a bit much! Now, I know we're all freezing bits off we're fond of, but I usually find that my hands and my feet are the coldest. Actually, I read recently that research has found women have colder extremities then men. Our bodies naturally draw away warmth from the legs and arms to the core to protect any child we might be carrying (regardless of if we are or not).... kinda neat. Unfortunately it means my toes and fingers are usually painfully numb!!
Anywhoozle, I was at MEC a while back, and was extremely excited when I found the holy grail of cold digits...
Oh yes... good warm times my friends! I bought the 'toe warmers' on the spot and they worked beautifully. They only last for so many hours, but it's usually enough to get you through the night. I think we were out for about 5 or so hours that evening, and my feet were deliciously warm the whole night through! At $1.75 for foot warmth, and $1.30 for the hands it's really a worthy investment for a night of fun. Just think how much more cruising-no-good you could get up to with these puppies!
See you (warmly) out there!
Denman Bike Shop Photo Op
About a month ago, I went down to Denamn Bike Shop and did a little photo shoot so we could include them in the directory section on the site. For those of you who don't know, Denman Bike Shop is a super cool cruiser destination located just outside of Stanley Park. Lots of pretty bikes and accessories, well stocked servicing area and (most importantly) a great outlook on life...
Things were pretty crazy over the holiday season (as usual) and it took me a couple of weeks to get the photos up..... and as I've been using most of my spare time to relax and not think about computers I hadn't gotten around to posting a blog entry about it. So, here I am... and here they are... the DBS photo album!
