Canadian parts retailer!! Prices are all in CDN, no cross-border duty! Prices on most things are comparable with local bike shops, if not better. The link address is: http://www.chainganglowrider.com/ Document ActionsNot yet...I did notice they're using a PayPal store rather than their own e-commerce thing... but I can tell you it isn't exactly trivial to get yourself set up for processing stuff online...
With regards to the ccard thing, generally if you don't get your stuff with a ccard you don't have to pay the bill and the ccard company goes after them... I've been burned online with money orders before - once it's cashed you're screwed if they don't come through in the end. hi guys / galsJust noticed there was a post regarding our shop chainganglowrider. I've thought long and hard about the first post and I can't remember this situation, we have an address to send money orders to for large value orders like complete bikes, always have. So my appologies to spbwsean, maybe you can let me know what this was regarding and when. We don't actually accept money orders except for large value orders like bikes, because we had a problem with setting parts aside for customers who were sending money orders and they never arrived, customer never to be heard from again. We ran into a problem with paypal fraud a year or so back with some complete bike sales (we were screwed out of 3 bikes...at our expense), so that's when we started selling completes by money order only. Everything else on our site is processed through paypal with no other problems in the last 4 years of business.
As for "nothing in stock", that's absolutely not the case, unless of course you dealt with us the first 6 months we opened? We stock lots of parts, we have to, in the winter months we ship out 3-5 orders a week, in the summer about 15-20 orders a week, not to mention local pick ups. Luckily we've been getting busier each year so we stock larger and large quantites of product all the time, also our retail prices have been going down in many cases as we import larger volumes of product. So to sum up, sorry to spbwsean, we certainly didn't intend to turn anyone away, I just wish I could remember this incident, I didn't know of any disatisfied customers....we're working hard to keep this scene alive! Check out all the new stuff we're stocking! New Monark style forks are super nice, for example. I submitted our link to this site when I found it because it looks like a great site, and I've been surprised since the day I opened that 90% of our orders ship out east...only a few go west. So just wanted to let you guys/gals know that we're here, and look forward to hearing from you! Ride On! Curtis Owner Chain Gang Lowrider no problems with mei've dealt with curtis for about 2 years, he's got a good variety of parts and i've had no problems with him whatsoever. i've been into bikes for about 3 years and after looking around at canadian retailers cgl is the cheapest dealer around.
travistravis-you should post your postive exp. in the forums, under "consumer report"
cglthe problems I had with your co. was about 3-4 years ago,....it was probably about the time you started CGL(I have noticed massive changes to your site since). I was trying to get a few parts, money order went missing(no problem there though as you kept me informed and I just needed to cancel it thru canpost) I probably got you on a bad day when you were just starting the business. good to hear its going ood and great to hear from a satisfied customer.
as you say most of your orders go east....least now some westcoasters have got some feedback on dealing with CGL. I bet alot of us westcoasters shop stateside, with cali and its bike mecca being so close. I do prefer to support Canadian biz as Im sure many here do...so its real good to hear of postive & recent dealings with CGL. ok good...Ok good, I'm glad that's sorted out, It was eating away at me that I couldn't remember the situation, I do now, unfortunately I can't do much about payment that doesn't arrive...and can't ship anything without payment. Glad you were able to cancel it with Canada Post though.
Like I said, I definately don't want any unsatisfied customers, so I'm glad we figured out what that was about. Hopefully It's a testimate to our service that we're getting bigger every year as other shops are dropping off the map. Take care guys, and send some of that riding weather this way....it's snowing here! Curtis Chain Gang Lowrider Getting in touch with Chain Gang LowridersCurtis how do you do?Wanted to ask and get info from you,but what you are on I don't have down loaded in to my computer. So no way for me to pull out your address or phone number if there is one. What I wanted to know was in the extra padded banana seat item BB70160,you only show black.I would like to know if you can get other colors. What I need is rawhide or better known as that nice tan rust color.Like the great looking cowboy saddles. If this can be done I would want two.Hope to hear from you.If an address is needed it is Steve L.R.Polzak,18802 Morgan st.Homewood,Illinois.60430
chaingang lowriderHey Sean, any way in the world your not getting him mixed up with someone else?As owner of Boneyardbikes.ca I have personaly delt with Curtis at Chaingang since 2004,never ever once have had a problem with his company.I have the fortune of being able to pick up my parts so I know for a fact that he has an actual address. As far as prices go,I buy a lot of parts thru out the year so it would be profitable for me to make sure i'm getting the best price and I know I am.When it comes to new or wild and crazy stuff he either finds it,knows where to get it or has it in stock. In my business dealing with him we have only had to order one part and the wait was less than 2 weeks. If a guy can't wait 2 weeks for a must have part, something is seriously wrong. There is a couple of Canadian companys that i have delt with or tried to deal with that i wouldn't give the exhaust off my mig welder, but Curtis at Chaingang lowrider is defently not one of them.
twasnope...was CGL for sure. Wouldnt be surprised if I was his very 1st customer. I noticed the CGL site has changed alot since then. Sounds like Curtis has his co. running smoothly and its good to hear some postive feedback from an existing CGL customer,......thats why I started this thread in the first place, so we could hear about some recent 1st hand experience with CGL........got it and all good. nuff said.
