Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Grow 'em thick and curly!!

As usual I shot more photos than I could possibly use - check them out here... I also did a route map up, check it here...

OK, so after Friday I wasn't about to get up early on Saturday. I actually rolled out of bed about quarter past noon... So I basically woke up late for the ride. Needed to eat breakfast and things, gotta get the day started right so I don't think we actually rolled out until about 1:15. I even gave my bike a wash first - it was actually still filthy from the time I tried to cut through the grass by Crab Park back a few months ago, just before I broke the seatpost again.

Hey Babbeeeeeee!!Got on the phone with a few other riders to see where things were headed to - Stamps Landing was the first destination. Perfect!! That's pretty much straight downhill from our place so Amber and I saddled up and got ourselves going.

Caught up with everyone at Leg-In-Boot square. Too good!! Lots of great mustaches everywhere you looked! Thankfully THIS TIME I remembered to bring my camera...

Got going after a little bit - just enough time for me to catch my breath after flying down for the meetup. There were prizes and things at the Cambie for best 'stash so I'm kinda disappointed that we missed that but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyhow, riding again - decided to roll in on Granville Island and stir the pot a bit. As usual traffic was snarled down there something awful but we just ignored it and rode on through. I shot a good bit of video too - nice segment riding through Granville Island is up here.

Mr. AnniesonOur next stop was by the Burrard Bridge, south side in a nice little park there. Sun shine, good times and Don of Ride Away had a CRATE of Girl Guide Cookies!!!! Awesome...

Something about girls with big hairy mustaches is just too funny... It's down right lewd!!!

So many pictures, so little blog space... Definitely check out the photo album...

Got rolling again - headed on through Vanier Park over towards Kits Beach. Made a stop at the washrooms there by Totem Beach (although we HAD just stopped at the washrooms by Vanier!!) and rolled down to Kits itself. I was bringing up the rear with a group of about 8 or so - the front runners were looooong gone, not even bikes off in the distance. Their loss!!

Good Times

Caught up with everyone again down by Jericho. We rolled in to the yacht club and took over most of the patio...

For some people this was the final destination but for some of us we were just getting going. Charles and Pops both met up with the group while we were at the yacht club... Just rounded out the party nicely.

Something about those big hairy porno mustaches just gets things going... lol...

We Have a Winner!

Melissa somehow got the idea out there to eat salsa off the table for money... Once the pot got over $10 we had a contestant!! Actually for that kinda money I was tempted myself... I mean, that's a jug of beer more or less!

Well, after a while more and more people drifted out. Once we finally finished off the table full of beer we got started again and rolled east, our group now much smaller, quite a bit drunker. Hit up Jerimiah's for some off sales, lost another chunk of people there although you would have thought the yacht club would have been good enough! Our group decided we needed a bit more of a ride so we headed up through Kits and zigzagged our way up to the Crescent and eventually to Riley Park to finish it all off. So so so good. Warm, clear, gorgeous views all around, how could you say no?!

Left the remainder of our group ripping down Ontario back to Science World. Amber, Pops and I headed over for Thai food at a favorite local place, stayed around till they kicked us out more or less and got home for a good night's sleep. Rock on!
