Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Went out for some new ground!

So last night we were out at it again (of course)...

Michael, Ted, Ted's friend Paul and myself started out down at Science World... Wind was coming in something fierce!!  We weren't really interested in riding through it all night, so we decided to head inland and find something a bit different...

Did the long climb up into the 20's around Woodland area then cut across up there - we were meeting Danu and Nina later on so kind of had to make sure we kept our pace up... No stopping until Nat Bailey!  Probably could have done with a break in there somewhere but hey, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?  Anyhow, got there and by that point Danu & Nina were around Broadway and Macdonald - oops, they're getting ahead of us!  Back off again out towards Quilchena Park (our designated meeting spot that night)...

From there the fun began - all new routes, new terrain!  I actually grew up in Kerrisdale so it's not new for ME per se, but I haven't ridden a bike up there in a looooong time.  Didn't really need to go so far East up there, but what the hell, right?  You can see out towards Richmond from up there, totally over the top of the ridge...

Took us out past Elm Park then around over towards Balaclava Park... The stars last night were awesome!  That was actually our last stop for the evening but it's all downhill pretty much after there... Took the express route out pretty much, then 10th avenue bike path back east.  Got home totally exhausted, best way to be right?
