Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Central Valley Greenway KICKS ASS!

by Bryn — last modified Mar 26, 2009 12:12 AM

Tonight I had the pleasure of riding a BRAND NEW portion of the Central Valley Greenway! All I can say is BEST ROUTE EVVVAAAAAAAAAAARRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG...

It's not often a bike route gets me that excited, but you just don't understand!!!

Tonight we did another North Burnaby Heavy Pedal run - actually we followed Adanac through to Burnaby (where it's called something else...) through to Squid Park at the north end of the Burnaby Golf Course.  No, that's not the easy part... In fact quite the opposite!

Anyhow the goal was Burnaby Lake... We had a nice stop out on the end of the pier by the beaver dam - yes, there's beavers in there, LOTS of beavers actually.  And then it was time to get back...

Well we found the holy grail of bike routes!

The Central Valley Greenway isn't really done yet, but it's pretty darn close!  And it's FLAT

Like FLAT FLAT

See, it follows the railway, and the railway runs the flatest possible route through the valley - kinda like they planned that eh?

I need some videos or something, but MAN this is a great route!  It's going to be a blast to roll out from Science World through to the lake with NOTHING more than the hill by Commercial Drive.  There WILL be rides that way!
