Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Chuck's "Dry Enough" Ride

Well, it was 'Dry Enough'...

Charles had been talking about doing a Thursday ride again this week and we were pretty much determined to make it happen... The weather had been looking pretty good all day - when I was heading home from work there were actually a couple of patches of blue sky!

Naturally we can't have that so right as we left the house the rain kicked in. By the time Amber and I got to Stanley Park we were pretty drenched but hey, what are you gonna do?

We met up with Charles and hid in a tunnel for a while - sometimes when it's wet it's all about riding from covered spot to covered spot. The outside of Stanley Park gets pretty brutal in the rain (ask me how I know) so the False Creek inside track is where you want to be - it has a lot more cover and way less wind.

Next stop was the Burrard Street Bridge - nobody was feeling up to J-skids for sure but it's a good spot to chill for a while. Lots of cover and most importantly lots of SPACE so you're not sharing too closely with anyone.

From there we booked along to the Casino - the trees there give some cover too although by that point the rain wasn't really coming down too hard.

Cruised on back to Science World and said good night to Charles - not the longest cruise on record by any means but hey, you take what you can get!
