Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Every Way But Up

Another Friday is upon us!

D'OH!  Forgot my camera this week.  Oh well...

So I'm often a little late for meetups - yeah, it happens.  This Friday was really bad though - Amber and I didn't end up rolling in until 20 to 9!!  Ooops.  Thankfully everyone waited for us...

Our route this week was basically a collage of fragments from other weeks.  Kept it nice and easy - I certainly didn't need to do any extra riding!  I DID however get my Manhattan back on the road this week thanks to a new seat post from Rick at Reverend Cycles.  BMX style laid back post - totally suits the bike and is WAY more rigid than the mushmetal ones I've been using.

The night was great - my only regret was that I didn't wear shorts.  Way too hot!!  But that's a good thing - it means we're rapidly approaching SUMMER when things REALLY get going!!  Anyhow, we rode the SeaWall through to Beaver Lake, rode around up there a bit before catching Pipeline Road back down to the SeaWall again.  Did a reverse SeaWall back out to the Roundabout, through past Lost Lagoon and into English Bay.  English Bay trek back towards Rocky Point then flipped it around back in to the park again.

After most of the group left Chris, Kendal, Dylan and I did another exploratory journey up to Beaver Lake before heading out.  It was just too nice to go home right away so I did a ride up Kingsway before cutting cross town back home.  Longer ride but WAY less steep of a hill.

I personally got home about 3:30 in the morning... Threw my batteries in the charger so I'd have 2 sets ready for Saturday, ate some leftover dinner and crashed out.  Relaxed, happy, full and tired make a good combination!
