Fireworks Finale
Saturday was the final night for this year's HSBC Celebration of Light
Great ride on Saturday - I was working late so I missed the beginning but managed to meet up with everyone before the fireworks started.
Mexico did their show followed by the finale - apparently they won the competition but my money would have been on the Czech republic, I thought Mexico had a weak start but what do I know...
After the fireworks we did the seawall, great times. Lots of fun watching the boats muscle through the passage under Lion's Gate. As usual there weren't too many people apart from us cruiser riders over that side - much better than fighting through the crowds.
We started getting hungry around midnight so we head over to the Babylon Cafe at Robson and Granville for some shwarma. This place is the BOMB and they're open really late (until after the clubs close most nights) - food is terrific and it's always fresh. Plus Granville street is closed down between Pender and Robson so there's a nice bike-friendly route up through tme middle of downtown right now. Probably a good place to check out with the north shore crew one night, easy hop to the seabus from there.
Last but not least we stopped down by the water near the casino - nice spot to end the night. Took off for home from there. Great ride!
