Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Friday October 5th

Got some good hill climbing in this week - plus got a really good stopping spot going at Trout Lake!

Glen Park Bike Art IIYes, a Friday Ride Blog! I know, it's been a while... What can I say...

I've mapped out the (extended) route of the evening... about 27km not including to and from home. Not bad for a Friday cruise!

Did our meetup and got rolling pretty quick - surprisingly warm out actually. I was expecting it to be really cold but I barely ended up with my gloves on all night. Definitely that season though... Anyhow, our first hop was over to Trout Lake where we stopped at a new spot Jaimie and I had seen on another ride we'd done a few weeks back (I remember that day - it was HOT and SUNNY! Remember those?) Not even sure how long we stopped there for, I think it was about 9:00ish by the time we got rolling again.

Next we rolled over to Windsor and did the "fun" climb up to Glen Park. The goal: the cemetery. But at Glen we had some time for some bike art!  Yeah, it was pretty dark and there wasn't a lot of light, but hey, you do with what you've got, right?

Next we headed over to the Cemetery for a while... Actually didn't end up being there for that long, we had a "Let's Roll Out" contingent so things kinda got moving pretty quick.  Lost the North Shore crew shortly thereafter but a few of us kept on rolling...

Dylan, Kendal and I were still up for it so we kept it going... Rolled on over to the Burrard Bridge and did a loop through downtown to drop Kendal off at work... Then Dylan and I rolled back over the bridge again and in to Kits.  We rolled on through to Troll Beach (otherwise known as "The Log")... But for whatever reason the air down there was bad - some kind of mould or something... Ugh... Dylan and I hauled our bikes up the stairs, found some pizza and finished off the night.
