Friday was actually a pretty danged good ride.  Warm - in fact I was TOO hot most of the night, temperature about 15 degrees give or take the entire night.  Yeah, about 7:00 when I left the house the rain was coming down pretty good, but nothing like February where it was doing the same thing but it was only 5 degrees... Brrr...

So we got down to the roundabout - I'd talked to Mad Dog, Dylan and Kendal all of whom said they were coming.  Everyone else had cancelled but hey, 5 people make a pretty decent ride, right??  Get there, nobody else around.  D'oh... Got a call from Dylan and Kendal saying they weren't coming out...  Gargamel!  Hey guys, we ride 10k to meet up with you...  If you're not going to come out a little advanced warning would be nice!!!  Same goes for you Mad Dog!!  We hung around for a good 45 minutes waiting 'cuz you said you were coming...

Anyhow, so there we were standing by the park for nothing... Then Michael called - him and Danu were looking to ride.  Excellent!!  Sounds much better than just going home again and I certainly wasn't going to ride the park.  So Pops and I headed up through Downtown to see the sights and grab some dinner before heading out towards Michael's place.  That led us to do this route....

Apart from a few drops of rain on the way down there the weather was actually pretty danged nice all evening.  Just gorgeous out - no wind, nice and warm, and most of all NO RAIN!!  By the time we got up to the cemetery we had stars in the sky and a gorgeous view of the city laid out before us.  Hey, sometimes the best nights happen out of nowhere.  You gotta make the most of it!
