Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Rod's Wednesday Ride

Is it October already?

First a little history lesson...

Rod has been running cruiser rides in Vancouver longer than just about anyone. In fact they used to be referred to as "Rod's Cruiser Rides" so you have to give him props for getting things organized.

Last year Rod was saying it was his last year as primary organizer and he definitely hasn't been on the scene as much this year but he still always does a ride the first Wednesday of every month. Last year they were known as the Brickyard Pub rides, this year we've been riding from the Pat Pub - you get the idea. It's usually the Stanley Park route, complete with 9 o'clock gun.

So this week's meetup was as normal - looks like a few more of you have found the new site. Tell your friends!! - The more people we get on here the better. We rolled out across over to Portside Park and then along under Canada Place... I snapped a pic on my cameraphone while we were underneath:

Headed over to the Roundabout from there, only stopped briefly because it was about 8:45 and we wanted to make the Gun. Headed on over and got more than just the usual fire show!

Sweeeeeet!!!!! Ron's taken the whole flame show to a whole new level.

I keep forgetting to say but a big chunk of the SeaWall has been closed around past the gun... if you don't remember you end up doing a bike hike up the stairs to the road. This time we remembered and headed up the hill.

Headed along over to Siwash and stopped for a bit. Joe of course found a new spot to hang his bike:

Motored on around to the south side and ended up hooking up with Jonathan on his Monark. GORGEOUS bike, me wantee big time!!!!

We headed out for home from there. All in all a good Wednesday night.
