Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Somewhat of a Damper on the Evening

Well, not really... all's well that ends well, right?

Another Friday rolls on past...

Weather forecast was saying we had a pretty good chance of staying dry. Of course things don't always work out quite as planned... We met up at the usual time, popped down in to the tunnel though. I got there a bit late, it gave a really good dump just before we got under cover. Great. That's what rain gear is for though, right?

So we stayed under the overpass for a bit, then eventually headed out. Raining eeeever so lightly, we decided to head around to the far side of the SeaWall. Well, got about half way around when suddenly my bike started going all squirrely. Nuts.

Look down to see the last of the air finding its way out of my tire. I was up in the lead and I didn't want the ride to stop dead so I ran along with my bike for a while getting everyone to keep on going. We were about to Third Beach and the concession at the top there has some cover - climbed the hill and got to work. Well actually Mad Dog got to work, I took pictures...

Thankfully Mad Dog had a spare tube on him, plus tools. I was NOT looking forward to hauling my bike all the way home!! Anyhow, between Mad Dog, Lou and myself we got 'er done. Meanwhile the rest of the group enjoyed the shelter...

Good times...

Headed back down the hill and found some dry spots under the trees where we ended up spending most of the rest of the evening. Not so much riding but a good time nonetheless!! I know I didn't find my way home 'till about 2:30 so you know it was a good night.

Anyhow, just a quickie posting, I'm one blog posting away from heading out the door to Rod's Pat Pub ride... Take care everyone!
