Elgin, JC Higgins, J.C. Higgins, They're All Sears bikes, and all freaking awesome!! I love that the Firestone bikes are all the same frames too... It's too bad there isn't more information out there about these bikes as they totally kick ass. Yes, they're not quite as good quality as a Schwinn, but they're absolutely serviceable and personally I find they fit taller riders a bit better. One really could ask why AREN'T these bikes ruling the world about now?!?

Stanley Park Update

by Bryn — last modified Jan 01, 2007 11:56 PM

More of the Park has re-opened but there's still a long way to go...

The Parks board announced on Sunday that the roads are now all open again in Stanley Park... Doesn't do much for us (in fact it's a lot worse - we got a rare chance to enjoy the roads sans cars)...

We've still got no Seawall between Lion's Gate and Third Beach - too bad they just finished rebuilding all of that. It's looking a lot like last year, we're probably going to be off the seawall until at least late spring. To date the Parks board has not yet released any information regarding the SeaWall but I've heard it's pretty bad. There's some aerial shots I've seen - LOTS of junk down on the path still, some areas of it are barely visible.

On the upside we had some pretty good rides through the Beaver Lake trails last year! After this next batch of storms rolls through hopefully we can get a group together to scout things out, see what's going on.
