Fred Deeley Deelite musclebike info

Posted by tobias chobotuck at August 18. 2010

Hi all,

I'm brand new to Vancruisers and have some questions about a sickle I just adopted.

Has anyone here heard of Fred Deeley Deelite rides? Fred Deeley Sr. opened Canada's first Harley Davidson franchise here in Vancouver in 1917. His son Fred Deeley Jr. took over the business around 1940 and also sold bicycles. There is next to nothing available online about the bicycles sold under the name Deelite. The bike I brought home is pretty rad. It is a dark blue beachcruiser frame with huge apehangers, a huge sissybar and a beautiful banana seat wrapped in blue sparkle vinyl. It has a coaster brake and a single gear so it looks like a pretty slick musclebike. I talked to one of the honchos at Trev Deeley and he didn't have much to say about it other than to hang on to it and maybe bring it by the store to show the staff. Anyone here know anything about these sickles? I'll try to post some pics when the camera turns up and I get the chrome polished.

Thanks and ride easy!!!

I have a Fred Deeley Deelite road bike! It was given to me by a friend and I am not sure what to do with it. It is slightly too big for me! It is grass green and needs a little lovin'. I REALLY want to keep it, and get it fixed up. I just don't know if I can ride it!
