Setting Up A Blog

How to create a blog for yourself here on Vancruisers.ca! Note you only have to do this once - after you've gone through these steps you'll have a "Blog" in your folder and you can just go to it to add new blog entries with a single click!

So you want to write a blog here on Vancruisers.ca?  Great!!

The first thing you have to do is log in and go to your home folder.

My Folder

 

Log in, then click on "My Folder" to go to your personal area here on the site... Your folder is where you can upload files, photos, create web pages, you name it!

 

Create Weblog

Now before you can post blog entries, we need to make you a blog to hold them!  A "weblog" is a special kind of folder that holds "weblog entries" - you generally will only have a single "Weblog" but you'll have (hopefully!) lots and lots of "Weblog Entries"...

Let's add a blog to your folder now...

Click the green 'add new' dropdown menu and choose 'weblog'

 

Enter Blog Details

 

Choose a name for your blog - this will be shown on the "Blogs" page so people can follow your postings.  This ISN'T your actual blog entry, you're just giving your blog folder a name and a short description.

 

Add Blog Entry

Great!  Now you're ready to start posting blog entries!!

Just click on 'Add Entry' to get started!

From now on, whenever you want to post blog entries all you need to do is go to your blog (you can find it listed on the "Blogs" page, or you can click "My Folder" and then click on your blog), and then just hit 'Add Entry'!
